Frequently Asked Questions About Roofing

roofing FAQIt’s normal to have some questions and concerns when a new roof is being installed. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about our roof replacementand roof repair services.

How soon will the roof be finished?
It’s impossible to answer this question because there are so many variables. We must take the weather into account, as well as how long it will take to get the new roofing materials in. We will, however, provide you with an estimated installation period. We make every effort to provide you with accurate information and will stay in touch should the weather cause us to postpone the installation.

Do you install roofs in the winter?
Winter is the slowest season for roofing, but that doesn’t mean the job can’t be done. We can install roofs in cold weather, provided the area does not have a thick blanket of snow and ice or high winds. You can prevent water stains on ceilings from appearing by investing in annual roof inspections.

Will it be loud?
Yes, installing a new roof will be loud, and there’s simply no way to make the process quieter. Because we hand nail our roofs, it may seem even louder at times. However, we make every effort to complete the job quickly. Our crew will also be respectful of your family and your home.

Must I have the old roof removed?
People often think they can save money by leaving an existing roofing layer in place. This only invites problems, however. The roof’s weight poses a problem, and the uneven surface prevents the new shingles from adhering to each other properly. While leaving the old roof might save a few hundred dollars in the short term, it will also reduce the life of the new roof by as much as 50 percent.
